Melitta Tchaicovsky's Bio

Photographer and videographer, Melitta specializes in documentary, editorial and special assignments.

A Bay Area resident for more than 20 years, she was born in Brazil where she earned her B.F.A in VisuaL Communication from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

She has worked on documentaries for Sverige TV, Stockholm, Sweden; produced and directed documentaries for Cable 31 in Marin County, California. Her photographic work has been published in magazines in the US, Spain, and Switzerland, she had exhibitions in Brazil, Israel and the US.

In 1998, a grant gave her the opportunity to spend 6 months on a visual research
 in  the Negev and Sinai deserts. The photo series  "Bedouins: A Way of Life", and 
the documentation of  traditional Bedouin weaving techniques, show images that

In 2001 Melitta spent 7 months in India to capture the images of "Ganga Ma: 
A Pilgrimage to the Source", the 58minutes art-documentary released in 
December  2001.

Co-founder of Artnetwork Productions, an award winning independent film 
production company focusing it's work in the visual documentation of ancient,
 indigenous and nomadic cultures and the development of projects alerting 
audiences of the need for preservation of the planet's environment and vanishing
 cultures.
