Since 1972, every summer, thousands of nature lovers have been holding large non-comercial gatherings in remote National Forests across the United States and since 1984 around the world. They gather to create a sacred space to pray for world peace and to experience tha viability of living in a cooperative community in harmony with the earth.
The annual "Rainbow Gathering" in the US draws thousands over the
first week of July, focusing on the 4th as a holy day of meditation and prayer
for peace and freedom. In the "Warriors of the Rainbow "documentary
the audience will meet members of the Rainbow family as they express their
love and hope for the future of humankind through personal stories, dance
and music.

Telluride Watch 2006
"A charming documentary of an event to big to capture, but to important to ignore. We experience the festive-dancing people and the solenm - 20,000 people holding hands in silence on the 4th of July morning. There are interviews with Ram Dass, Rez Menelek and others Rainbow Warriors -explaining, enterpreting, envisioning what this peaceful assemblage of a temporary small city in the woods means -where there are no fees, food and drink are free, and the days are spent in yoga, conversation, dancing and drumming. A celebration of life!" (
Four Corners Free Press 2006
"Warriors of the Rainbow is lively and informative. You are told of controversies and traditions - the following that has grown up around this annual event that started in 1972. Warriors of the Rainbow, takes you right into the swirling crowds and colorful pageants. You can't help sense the excitment and power of such a large gathering of people."
